Stuff For Everyone - Website Development Episode 4 of 9

Bobby:

When the home page of the Stuff For Everyone® website popped up, Charlie, Karen and Susan, simultaneously shouted in harmony, “WOW!” in reference to the category images scrolling from left to right in the center of the page.

Charlie:

“Don’t jump to the next page, yet” Charlie requested. “I want to study this the images on this page.”

Karen:

Looking towards Susan, Karen said, “I absolutely love the purple and blue colors of your Stuff For Everyone® logo in general, and your website in particular.” A second later she continued, “Nice, Susan. Nice color contrast,”

Charlie:

“I really like that you put the Family-Owned emblem on the home page. It’s important to share with your audience that you are a family-owned business.”

Karen:

“I agree,” Karen injected.

Charlie:

“I also like the fact that you are stating your business philosophy on the home page,” Charlie stated pointing to the words just to the left of the Stuff For Everyone® logo, “Better Quality Products At Fairer Prices.” Looking away from the laptop and turning his head to look at Bobby, he asked, “How did you come up with that phrase?”

Bobby:

“I thought that in today’s market of higher prices due to inflation and shrinkflation, I wanted to give our customers a better-quality product at a fairer price.”

Charlie:

“Brillant!” Charlie called out. “Absolutely brilliant, Bobby,” he added as he patted Bobby on his back. “You nailed it!”

Karen:

Pointing to the people images scrolling across the middle of the page, Karen asked, “Are these the products that you’re selling?”

Bobby:

“Actually these images of our models represent categories of products,” Bobby stated. “For example, Kevin is modeling the Republican Strong hoodie. When I click on this image it takes me to the full range of Republican Strong clothing products.”

Karen:

When the full range of Republican Strong products popped up, Karen announced, “I love it. Look Charlie,”  she stated looking towards her husband, “See how they photo shopped each product with a patriotic background.”

Charlie:

“Great idea,” Charlie replied.

Bobby:

“Actually that was Susan’s idea,” Bobby said. “Now if you click on any particular product image it will take you to ….”

Karen:

“Hold on, Bobby,” Karen stated interrupting Bobby from completing his sentence. “I want to study the prices for a minute.” For the next 30 seconds Karen studied the prices of all the products. “Nicely priced,” she stated. “$19.95 for T-shirts, $39.95 for sweatshirts, hoodies and zip-ups. Very affordable.”

Bobby:

“Better quality products at fairer prices,” Bobby injected. “So now if I click on the Republican Strong hoodie image,” he added as he clicked on the hoodie image, “The product page for the hoodie will pop up. “Here you can see a close-up of the product, it’s price, the sizes we offer and a detailed description of the product.”

Karen:

After Karen had time to review the contents of the top of the page she instructed Bobby, “Scroll down to the description section.” Reading out-loud she began reading, “Adult heavy blend 8-ounce, 50 % cotton, 50 % polyester, double needle stitching, athletic cuffs, and spandex waistband.”

Bobby:

“Does that define, ‘Better Quality’? Bobby asked looking up at the group.

Karen:

“Absolutely, Bobby!” Karen firmly replied.

Bobby:

“Let’s go back to the home page for a minute,” Bobby suggested while he positioned the mouse over the home page icon. “See here,” he stated directing the mouse to the header reading, ‘Let’s Go Shopping’. “Now when I click on it, the categories of everything we are currently selling is listed.”

Charlie:

No sooner than the ‘Let’s Go Shopping’ page popped up, Charlie began to read the categories aloud. “Stuff For Wine Drinkers, Stuff For Democrats, Stuff For Nurses.”

Karen:

Interrupting Charlie, Karen curiously expressed her thought process, “Hummmm,” than added, “I love that category,” she stated looking towards Susan and referring to the fact that Susan was a nurse.

Charlie:

Continuing, Charlie read, “Stuff To Support Nurses, Stuff For Frontline First Responders, Stuff To Support Frontline First Responders, Stuff From New Yorker and Stuff For Workouts.”

Bobby:

“Who could that be?” Bobby asked interrupting Charlie when he heard the doorbell ring.

Susan:

“It must be the pizza delivery man,” Susan stated when she got up from her seat on the sofa. “I ordered two pizzas for dinner,” she added as she walked toward her front door.

Bobby:

“I’m not going to compete with pizza,” Bobby stated placing the mouse to the right of his laptop. Looking to Karen and Charlie, he added, “We’ll continue looking though the Stuff For Everyone® website after we eat.”
